RON BELMONT MAKES ALL OF OUR SPORTS POSSIBLE!!!

Dear Sports Gals,

Ron Belmont has won election and re-election as Mayor by landslide victories because of the outstanding job he has done as Mayor and Supervisor.  He retired prematurely due to a family health crisis which has now resolved just in time for him to run as a
WRITE IN CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR!   I write to you today because Ron deserves another landslide victory on Tuesday, November 7.  Once again, I mean no offense to any other candidate in this election.  Instead I write because as a long-term and non-partisan volunteer for sports in Harrison, I have personally observed Ron’s effectiveness and his positive “can-do” attitude.  I know Ron to be an amazing manager and a tireless and accomplished leader who can get things done in a bipartisan manner.

Recreation Superintendent ~ 25+ Years of Excellent Service.  For over 25 years Ron provided outstanding service to Harrison as Recreation Superintendent--generously completing his final year of service as a volunteer in order to mitigate the impact of recession on the Harrison community.  When I first telephoned Ron to ask him for help with adult sports opportunities in Harrison, his response said it all: “Let me know what you need, and I will get it done.”  As all of you know, Ron is true to this mantra—and he did get it done.  In addition to bringing all of us sports gals together for basketball, volleyball and soccer for over 20 years now, his work for Harrison’s children, seniors, commuters and other residents is truly remarkable.

Mayor and Supervisor ~ 10 Impressive Years of Excellent Bipartisan Results.  Ron has proven his unique ability to work successfully in a bipartisan manner as Mayor and Supervisor of Harrison.  Below are just a few of his contributions.

  • Enhancing Harrison Commuters' Experience & Making the MTA-AvalonBay Downtown Revitalization Happen.  Ron has worked tirelessly to make the beautiful new $77 million Avalon multi-use transportation center a reality.  This exciting real estate project replaced Harrison’s rundown eyesore of a train station with a wonderful new shopping, parking, transportation and housing destination.  There is more commuter, shopper and resident parking (hundreds more spaces), more shopping (27,000sf), gorgeous landscaping and welcoming  transportation amenities and facilities--and all the while it created hundreds of jobs and contributed to the beautification of Harrison’s downtown streetscape.  This alone is testament to Ron’s ability to bring people together to get things done.  Ron brought Westchester County, MTA Metro-North Railroad, Avalon and many others with diverse political and economic objectives together to get this incredible project done for Harrison.  This project is rightfully the envy of many other Westchester communities and it is what “can-do” looks like
  • Successfully Attracting Corporate Taxpayer Citizens to Harrison.  Contributing greatly to the strength of Harrison’s tax base, Ron has successfully attracted taxpaying corporate citizens to Harrison, including AvalonBay, Memorial Sloan Kettering, LifeTime Fitness and,  Wegmans.  Thanks to Ron these accomplishments mean that Harrison’s strong corporate tax base benefits all of Harrison’s citizens.
  • Fiscally Responsible: Harrison Enjoys a Triple A Rating.  Ron budgeted within the tax cap every single year of his tenure and Harrison enjoys Moody’s Triple A rating which is reserved for the most fiscally responsible entities.  At the same time, Ron has maintained essential services for the Harrison community and has invested $38.9 million in Harrison’s infrastructure, including for example, roads, water, flood control, municipal technology systems, school resources, and recreation (think Sollazzo remodel, Harrison Meadows Golf Course and the beautiful Malfitano Park which was once an eyesore).  Ron has worked hard to make Harrison and its schools safer, for example, by adding Student Resource Officers at Harrison’s public schools, adding needed police officers to the police department, and helping to develop an all-important emergency operations center.

Ron has accomplished so much already for Harrison.  Your vote allows him to return to service and continue his important work to ensure future economic vitality for Harrison for years to come.  Ron understands people—he has the rare and highly practical ability to bring diverse people together to get things done in a bipartisan manner.

For all of these reasons, and from my status as a sports gal and neither a Democrat nor a Republican, I support Ron Belmont’s candidacy for another term as Mayor and Supervisor of Harrison.  I hope you will too by voting for Ron on Tuesday, November 7.  Harrison is lucky to have Ron as Mayor now and even luckier that he wants to come back to continue leading Harrison in this important role. Ron has no higher political ambition and Harrison is no political steppingstone for him--Ron's singular goal is to see Harrison reach its full potential as a thriving and sought after Westchester community.
Let’s help make Ron’s landslide victory happen again--for the good of Harrison—
PLEASE WRITE IN RON BELMONT ON NOVEMBER 7!

Sincerely,
Mary

Basketball and Volleyball are now temporarily paused at Sollazzo Center due to construction; Soccer will continue at Purchase Elementary School.

Hello Sports Gals,
The good news is that the Town of Harrison is building an impressive new recreation facility where the Sollazzo Center is located and the new facility is scheduled for completion sometime (hopefully) in 2025. The not so good news is that ladies basketball and volleyball are now temporarily paused at Sollazzo Center. We are in the process of evaluating alternate locations for both sports and we will keep you posted. Ladies soccer at Purchase Elementary School should be unaffected. Hope everyone has a great summer!
